Island View Lodge Review - Rainy Lake, MN

I have been to Island View many times and have never been disappointed!

Its a historic 100 yr old resort with all of the modern amenities.

If you like "rustic" log cabins -- they have it, if you like a new cabin -- they have it, it you like a motel style room - -they have it.

A great restaurant with great food, a super dock system for your boat, a cozy bar for after the catch, and a perfect location on Rainy Lake with a really nice deck to chill on over looking the lake.

Everything is a quick walk from the cabin or lodge. Definitely more of a fisher persons / outdoors-mans resort though.

In other words, not really a place for people that are used to staying downtown at the Hyatt and getting waited on hand and foot.

The internet service works fine all over the property ( amazing given the terrain and location ), The walleye fishing is good--have never been skunked there. Scenery is awesome.

Service is fine. I stay all over the country on my fishing trips and Island View is a fine place to stay for the cost. If there is a problem, it is taken care of as soon as possible -- sometimes a wait, but who cares if your fishing.

The place is always packed to the gills, so get your reservations sooner than later!

I have been there at least 20 times, August and September are my favorite times to go there for what that's worth.

If your new to Island View, Lodge on Rainy Lake, I would hire a fishing guide for a 1/2 day and get a map -- its a big lake with a ton of structure for Walleye.
