General

How much does a Minnesota fishing guide cost?

Our guided fishing trips range from $425 for a half-day (4 hours) to $900 for a full-day (8 hours) for up to 5 anglers. Ice fishing house rentals start at $200. All prices include guide service, equipment, bait, and fish cleaning.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes, all anglers 16 and older are required to have a valid Minnesota fishing license. You can purchase one online through the Minnesota DNR website or at most bait shops and sporting goods stores.

What should I bring on a guided fishing trip?

We provide all fishing equipment, bait, and tackle. You should bring weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, a camera, snacks/beverages, and your fishing license. We recommend layering as weather can change on the water.

Do you accommodate beginners?

Absolutely! Captain Josh is an experienced instructor who loves working with anglers of all skill levels. Whether it's your first time fishing or you're an experienced angler, we tailor the trip to your experience level.

Booking & Pricing

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for peak season dates (walleye opener, summer weekends, prime ice fishing). Many dates book months in advance. Contact us to check availability.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand plans can change. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule. We work with our guests to find alternative dates when possible. Specific cancellation terms are discussed at booking.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Venmo. Payment details are arranged when you book your trip.

Can you accommodate large groups?

Yes! We can accommodate groups of up to 50 anglers with advance notice. For groups of 6 or more, we arrange additional boats and guides. Corporate outings, family reunions, and fishing clubs are all welcome.

On the Water

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety is our top priority. If conditions are unsafe, we will reschedule your trip to an alternative date. Light rain usually doesn't stop the fishing — in fact, some of our best days are overcast and rainy!

Will you clean my fish?

Yes! Complimentary fish cleaning and packaging is included with every guided trip. We fillet your catch and have it ready for you to take home and enjoy.

What is the fish guarantee?

Captain Josh is so confident in his abilities that he will not charge a fee if your fishing trip is anything other than a success. That's how seriously we take putting you on fish.

What boat do you use?

We fish aboard a 21-foot Lund Pro-Guide 2075 powered by a 250hp Mercury outboard. The boat features Humminbird fish finders, Garmin GPS, dual Minnkota trolling motors, and accommodates up to 5 anglers comfortably.

Ice Fishing

What types of ice houses do you offer?

We offer standard heated day houses for 4-10 hour sessions and deluxe Glacier sleeper houses for overnight trips. Sleeper houses include forced-air furnace, Smart TV, microwave, gas range, and generator.

Is ice fishing safe?

Safety is our top priority. Captain Josh monitors ice conditions continuously. All houses include carbon monoxide detectors, and safety equipment is always provided. We only set up on ice that meets safe thickness standards.

What species can I catch ice fishing?

The primary ice fishing targets are walleye, northern pike, crappie, bluegill, and perch. The species mix depends on which lake we're fishing and current conditions.
